Amanda Staveley is the senior partner of private equity firm PCP Capital Partners. She has been recently heralded as one of the most powerful women in football after successfully brokering Abu Dhabi United Group’s shock multi-million pound takeover of Manchester City. As an advisor to the Dubai International Capital (DIC) she was chosen to lead negotiations in their proposed takeover bid of Liverpool FC. At Soccerex 2008, Staveley will draw upon her experiences of cultivating business contacts in the Emirates and the rest of the world over the past decade, to reveal her thoughts on why football clubs are sparking so much interest from across the globe.
David Dein has held a number of high profile positions including vice-chairman of Arsenal and vice-chairman of the Football Association. Whilst at Arsenal, Dein was responsible for football matters at the club taking an active role in the transfer of players and contract negotiations where he was able to use his extensive network of football contacts. Dein will use his extensive knowledge and experiences to address delegates at Soccerex about this recent emergence of foreign influence and its effects on both clubs and national teams.
