Under the deal, Reebok Hockey, will become the exclusive outfitter and key marketing provider of the League, providing all 14 clubs in the competition with new EDGE Uniform System jerseys and socks. Reebok will also become the exclusive supplier helmets, visors and pants, whilst all participating players and team staff will also be supplied with Reebok apparel for on and off-ice use.
General Manager of Reebok Hockey, Len Rhodes, said: “The Champions Hockey League is a key platform for European club teams to showcase their finest players. We view the Champions Hockey League as a strategic property that will help us achieve our industry leading global growth targets”.
In its inaugural season, the Champions Hockey League will showcase fourteen top-ranked club teams from seven nations, which will compete and play a total of 33 games on a designated night over a 21-week span. Nations that will be represented in tournament play include: Russia, Finland, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia, Switzerland and Germany. The season begins on September 12 and will be telecast in over a 100 markets worldwide via a primarily free-to-air network. The League is sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IHF).
