Platini heads UEFA inquiry

The investigation, which will involve panel of financial and legal experts, aims to establish a 'level playing field' amongst the club by establishing a level of transparency that does not allow clubs to 'buy success on credit'.

Platini told the paper: "We have to find the golden mean, the right balance," he said. "There have always been rich and poor clubs, the rich get richer and the poor want to take their place. We should have more balance, and we will see what can be done. But we will do it calmly and coolly, with the whole football family".

UEFA is also understood to be keen to establish a formal ban on international transfers on players under 18, to prevent trafficking and exploitation.
