ADUG set to takeover Manchester City

English Premier League club Manchester City is reported by the UK press to be in talks with the Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (Adug) over a takeover deal.

According to the Guardian newspaper, the club has confirmed ongoing talks. "Manchester City can confirm that there are discussions ongoing with the Abu Dhabi United Group Investment and Development Limited with regards to investing in the football club," read a club statement. "A further statement will be released by the club when it is appropriate to do so."

Current owner, Thaksin Shinawatra is reported to have agreed a deal after three weeks of negotiations.
