PCB to schedule one-day series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hope to play a one-day series in either South Africa or Australia after the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to postpone the Champions Trophy.

Chief operating officer of the PCB, Shafqat Naghmi, told Reuters: "We feel that our team is in dire need of exposure in foreign conditions and, with the postponement of the Champions Trophy, we believe we can now have an offshore series with the cooperation of other boards.

"The South Africans have responded well to our proposal because, frankly speaking, I think most of the countries realise that Pakistan cricket has suffered a big setback with the postponement of the Champions Trophy".

Pakistan still retains the rights to host the eight-team tournament, which was originally scheduled to be held in Lahore and Karachi from September 12-28.
