IOC hoping for Chinese bonanza

The IOC is hoping that the success of the Beijing Games will lead to lucrative TV rights deals in China for the 2010 and 2012 Games.

According to various news reports the International Olympic Committee expects to reap a "three-figure" multimillion-dollar deal with China for the 2010 Winter and 2012 Summer Games.

Chinese state broadcaster CCTV acquired the rights for the 2008 Beijing Games in a deal worth around $17 million, but is expected to generate an estimated $400 million from its coverage.
