Samsung in sponsorship talks

South Korean conglomerate, Samsung, is in talks to extend its multimillion-pound sponsorship deal with English Premier League club, Chelsea, according to UK press reports.

The new deal, which is believed to include continued shirt sponsorship, as well as other brand promotion opportunities, such as sponsorship within Stamford Bridge, branding on Chelsea’s official website and the availability of Samsung’s products in the Chelsea shop, will also give Samsung the opportunity to use Chelsea players for future advertising.

Samsung agreed its first five-year, £50 million sponsorship deal with Chelsea in April 2005.
