Qatar is to bid for the 2020 Olympic Games, the Heir Apparent and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani has said.
His Highness told reporters that Qatar is still determined to host the Games and will speak to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) about why Doha’s bid for the 2016 Games failed. Qatar will then bid for the 2020 Olympics Games according to the new criteria.
Qatar has 23 athletes competing in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
