LPGA seeks $4m sponsor

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) is seeking a $4 million-a-year sponsor for the eight-tournament series it hopes to broadcast on network television in 2010, Sport Business Journal reports.

The details of the package are vague, although on-site activation, hospitality and some form of naming or presenting rights are expected to be part of any deal. According to Sport Business, the sponsor could also title sponsor a new season-ending event that would conclude the eight-tournament series for an additional fee.

The eight events that will make up the series have not been identified. The LPGA declined to comment.
