Speaking exclusively to Soccerex.com, Gerard Houllier said, “I'm very grateful to Duncan Revie for inviting me to contribute to Soccerex, it’s an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas, meet people and promote the development of players and coaches”
The former Liverpool manager and current Technical Director of the French Football Federation will speak on one of a series of panels at Soccerex 2008 named ‘How to win a World Cup’. Gerard Houllier was a key architect in the magnificent development of the French National Team that resulted in the ultimate ‘football crescendo’ of winning both the 1998 World Cup & 2000 European Championships. As Director of the National Academy at Clairefontaine, that has produced a generation of gifted players including Thierry Henry, he has an unrivalled knowledge of player development to share with Soccerex delegates.
Completing this panel of great sporting minds is Jake White, the former coach of the World Cup winning South African rugby team. This exceptional sporting leader will add another perspective on managing elite athletes and share his motivational and managerial techniques that made South Africa the strongest rugby nation in the world.
‘How to win a World Cup’ is a panel dedicated to the art of winning and is just one of the topics to be covered in Soccerex’s diverse programme of conference panels, sector-specific workshops, company presentations and networking breaks. Soccerex 2008 takes place 23 – 26 November, Gauteng Province, South Africa. For further information please call +44 (0)208 742 7100 or email marketing@soccerex.com
