Sports minister, Rostyslav Karandeyev, told reporters that negotiations had ended with the Archasia Design Group because of difficulties about the company's legal status in Ukraine.

The delays in renovating the stadium have been a critical issue for the country after Platini complained in January that preparations were too slow and rumours spread that Ukraine and co-host Poland could lose the rights to stage the competition.
The 84,000 capacity stadium in Kiev was built in the 1920s and is one of four stadiums in Ukraine to be used in the tournament. Organisers faced a series of problems with the stadium, including a half-built adjacent shopping centre which violated crowd control norms.
