The deal with the US Golf Association (USGA) also gives Sky Sports live rights for the US Open Women’s Championship, the US Senior Open Championship, the US Amateur Championships, the Walker Cup, the Curtis Cup, and the US Junior Amateur Championships. It brings Sky’s relationship with the USGA to over 20 years.
Sky Sports secured the exclusive live rights in the UK for a second Major, the US PGA Championship, in 2006, under a deal running up to, and including, the 2016 event. Within the last year Sky Sports has also acquired the rights for The Ryder Cup and The European Tour until the close of the 2012 season.
The other two majors, the Open Championship and the US Masters, are screened in the UK by the BBC.
