Under the deal, Sportfive will handle all marketing matters for the North Rhine-Westphalian team, including sponsor recruitment and relations, the development of new sponsorship concepts, hospilality marketing at the Signal Iduna Park and decentralised television rights.
Hans-Joachim Watzke, Chairman of Borussia Dortmund, said: "A good three years after our near insolvency, the Group's projected debt at 30 June 2008 will be just €69.1 million in liabilities from financing the stadium. Taking into account the amount paid back during the present fiscal year, we would be reducing financial liability at the Group level alone by €59.8 million this year. In the operations sector, Borussia Dortmund would be completely free of debt, putting it in a splendid financial position for the years ahead."
