The race, which is currently held at Silverstone, could be dropped from the Formula One calendar after 2009 when Ecclestone’s deal with the British Racing Drivers Club expires.
Ecclestone, who has been a constant critic of Silverstone's facilities in the past, remains unconvinced that they will improve any time soon. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph he said: "I suppose they could come back to me. They could get the building done in six months. But I would not put any money on it.
"The BRDC know the terms. If they meet them, then we are in business. But at the moment they can't and therefore there is no race in 2010".
The next event in the Formule One calendar is the Monaco Grand Prix, which will take place on May 25.
