The deal covers the 2010 Winter Games, as well as for the Canadian Olympic team for the Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 Games.
As Official Beer Supplier for the 2010 Winter Games, the agreement includes pouring rights at all competition and non-competition venues and associated events. The agreement will also enable
Molson to use 2010 Winter Games marks for promotional purposes.
"Molson has a long history of community support including sporting events both locally and nationally. The 2010 Winter Games celebration is a natural fit for Canada's oldest brewer," said Kevin Boyce, Molson President and Chief Executive Officer. "We look forward to raising a pint with the global community in 2010 and helping to promote Canada's Games from coast to coast to coast."
“Molson will be an ideal partner for an Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games that will give all Canadians a chance to celebrate," said John Furlong, VANOC Chief Executive Officer, who also pointed out that Molson was the original brewery sponsor of the Vancouver
2010 Bid Corporation. "Molson helped us win the bid and we will be pleased to welcome them back to the family beginning in 2009. We look forward to their contributions in sharing the spirit of the 2010 Winter Games with all Canadians."
