Paul Simon, Head of Commercial Sponsorship for BT said: “We are very pleased to be working with Catch Sport to identify and potentially fund British sporting talent. Their unique online approach to matching corporate sponsors to athletes combined with their partnership with the BAC made the decision to sign up to Catch Sport an easy one for BT. As a tier one sponsor for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games we look forward to working together to help maximise Britain’s medal prospects in 2012.”
The British Athletes Commission, which works with Catch Sport in an exclusive partnership, said through their Chief Executive Pete Gardner: “We are delighted that the initiative with Catch Sport has attracted such a high profile company. This reaffirms our belief that Catch Sport offers the best solution for any company wishing to link up with elite athletes in the UK.”
Karim Bashir, Managing Director for Catch Sport added: “To sign up a company with the status, credibility and culture of BT is a huge landmark for Catch Sport and all our athletes. The close partnership we enjoy with the British Athletes Commission and our innovative approach have allowed us to present a compelling case for athlete sponsorship brokering. We look forward to helping BT build a team of young British athletes to support in the run up to the London Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond.”
