New York-based Rolapp will follow in the footsteps of previous S&T: The Conference Closing Keynote Address speakers Malcolm Speed, Chief Executive of the International Cricket Council, Marius Schneider, Head of Information Services at FIFA and Doug Gardner, FIFA World Cup Programme Managing Director at IT provider and sponsor Avaya.
Formerly Business Development Director at NBC Universal, Rolapp, a graduate of Harvard University, has been responsible for bringing the operations of NFL.com in-house as well as managing the NFL’s traditional and media businesses. He also oversees the NFL’s partnerships with Apple, Sprint, Sirius Satellite Radio, Amazon, Yahoo! and others while advising NFL clubs on various media issues.
Rolapp will explain how technology is being used to grow the NFL’s appeal globally as well as to enhance the sport to its domestic fanbase, no doubt touching upon some of the areas highlighted by Hank Adams, CEO of Sportvision in his own Afternoon Opening Address.
Now in its fourth year, Sport and Technology: The Conference 2008 is bringing together its usual strong array of leading sports properties and technology/digital solutions providers to discuss what's hot and what's not in the fast-paced world of technology and sport.
In addition to its staple of insightful panel discussions and keynote addresses involving prolific industry leaders, this year, Sport and Technology: The Conference will introduce a new session allowing technology-providers to showcase their contributions to sport, and sports properties to illustrate how technology has helped to grow their fanbases using specific case studies.
The illuminating panel discussions will cover issues that are vital to companies involved in sport. 'Maximising Digital Sports Rights'; 'Planning for a Digital Olympics' and 'Creating Opportunities for Sponsors through Technology' will feature the exceptional standard of speakers that continues to be associated with this event.
