Zee and Ten win Champions League rights

Indian pay-television providers Ten Sports and Zee Sports acquired the exclusive media rights for the Champions League, from 2009-12 and the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Uefa Cup.

Under the deal, Ten and Zee will both show coverage of two Champions League matches every week. Ten Sports will also broadcast highlights, delayed matches and a weekly magazine programme.

For the UEFA Cup, at least two live matches each match week will be scheduled across the Ten Sports and Zee Sports channels with Ten Sports also showing at least one highlights programme and a delayed match. Fans will also be able to access all live matches via the Ten Sports website and on mobile platforms.

UEFA said: "We are delighted to renew our partnership in the region with Ten Sports and Zee Sports. In recent seasons they have proved to be an excellent partner and their continued involvement is a real positive for fans of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup throughout the Indian sub-continent".

The deal was brokered by Team Marketing AG and incorporates India as well as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives.
