CJ Media wins Champions League rights for Korea

CJ Media acquired the TV rights for the UEFA Champions League and Super Cups in Korea from 2009-2012.

CJ Media was awarded a substantial package of media rights which includes live matches, highlights, a magazine programme and delayed coverage.

CJ Media owns Xports, a pay-sports channel and the broadcaster will be entitled to exploit the rights over the Xports, XTM and tvN channels, ensuring significant exposure for both competitions.

The rights will also be widely exploited across other broadcast platforms – including on the internet via xportstv.com and on mobile.

The deal means that ESPN STAR Sports and their local affiliate MBC ESPN will not be UEFA's Champions League broadcast partner in South Korea.
