Court of Arbitration set to rule on Paris-Nice race

Tagged in , , &

The Court of Arbitration for Sport will rule today on whether teams and cyclists could be sanctioned for participating in the Paris-Nice race, which starts on Sunday.

The International Cycling Union has warned that as the event is being held outside its control it does not consider it to be legal and all starters and their teams therefore risk bans and fines. CAS secretary, Matthew Reeb, said: "The teams have asked for a ruling before the race starts so we will decide by Friday evening at the latest".

France's anti-doping agency, said 60 samples of blood and urine would be examined during the race while hair samples would be used in the event of a dispute.
