ESPN Star sports renews rights for golf’s Masters

ESPN Star Sports acquired the TV rights across Asia for the Masters for next three years, from 2008 to 2010.

Under the deal ESPN Star Sports will bring ‘live’ coverage of all the four days’ action from the Augusta National Golf Club as well as packages including half-hour daily highlights and ‘live’ on-ground reports in English and in Mandarin.

Manu Sawhney, Managing Director, ESPN STAR Sports said: “For players and fans alike, The Masters represents a hallowed rite of passage with its rich tradition and indelible imagery. We are pleased to be able to continue bringing one of golf’s biggest tournaments to our viewers with this multi-year renewal.”

ESPN STAR Sports’ golf championship properties include The Open Championship and The US Open. ESPN STAR Sports has also secured multi-year rights to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, Asian Tour and the PGA Euro Pro Tour, Mauritius Open and Ladies European Tour for the 2008-2010 seasons.
