ESPN STAR and Entriq continue roll-out

ESPN STAR Sports and digital media company Entriq will roll out more ‘live and on-demand programming’ this spring, having launched a broadband video service dedicated to offering sports via both programming channels.

ESPN STAR Sports’ broadband video service has already been used to offer cricket fans across the world live coverage of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under 19 Cricket World Cup, and was also successfully used to deliver the recent 20/20 Cricket World Cup and the Australia vs India Test Series.

“We have made a good start with the recent ICC cricket tournaments, but it’s just the beginning of our video across broadband offering,” explained Jason O’Sullivan, Vice President of Digital Media at ESPN STAR Sports. “In spring this year, we will be rolling out more live and on-demand programming that will maximize the rights of the sports events we have acquired as well as enhancing our in-house programming.”

ESPN STAR Sports’ user interface includes pay-per-view, subscription and advertising/sponsorship business models in different geographies and the ‘Geo-targeting’ of events.
