Perform nets Asian Football digital deal

Perform will launch a digital channel to stream live AFC club and national team football, including FIFA World Cup 2010 Asian qualifiers and AFC Champions League matches.

Perform, who have recently opened an office in Singapore, partnered with World Sport Group (WSG), to exploit the digital rights of the continent’s leading club and national team football competitions and will build and manage a broadband channel to stream live games from the AFC Champions League, the premier club team tournament in Asia, and the FIFA World Cup 2010 Asian qualifying rounds.

The agreement also covers the AFC Asian Cup™ 2011, the marquee national team event in WSG’s inventory of properties in the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) portfolio, the Asian football qualifying rounds for the 2012 Olympics, the Hyundai A League and J League. A total of 200 matches will be streamed live a year, with subscription packages available on a daily, monthly and annual basis.

The service will launch on March 12 with live online coverage from the first round of matches in the 2008 AFC Champions League.
