When London won the right to host the 2012 Olympic Games, a key part of its promise was to leave a lasting economic legacy. Now to show how the Games is delivering on this promise, British Olympic Association CEO and LOCOG Board Director, Simon Clegg and LOCOG Deputy Chairman, Sir Keith Mills will discuss this important initiative at the UK Trade & Investment conference Winning Beyond 2012.
Clegg says of his involvement: “There has never been a greater opportunity for British business to break into the multi billion dollar global sports market than with London staging the 2012 Olympic Games and Glasgow hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
Host nation status creates the best possible environment for British business to capitalise on these two events and build a portfolio of experience for subsequent export. I’m delighted to be involved in this conference and hope that its content will dispel many of the myths and mystics about how British business can make the most of 2012 and 2014”.
UK Trade & Investment will bring together a unique collection of experts representing billions of dollars in contract opportunities at the Winning Beyond 2012 Conference to be held at The Hilton Deansgate, Manchester between 1-2 April 2008.
Keynote speakers include:
Dmitry Chernyshenko, CEO of Sochi 2014 Organising Committee
Diamil Faye, President of JAPPO S.A.
Etienne Thobois, CEO of France 2007 Rugby World Cup Organising Committee
Jens Holm, CEO of The World Masters Games
