USC strikes $50m partnership deal

The University of South Carolina will has signed a $50 million nine-year contract to make ISP Sports and Learfield Communications the multimedia and advertising rights holder for its athletics programme.

The athletic department's rights holder will help develop opportunities for sponsorships on live radio, call-in shows, advertising on official publications and the department's website.

The new deal will replace a five-year contract with ISP/Learfield that runs out in June and is expected to net $11 million.

On the ISP Sports website, the company lists 42 universities as partners, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.
