MP & Silva wins rights for 2010 Asian World Cup Qualifiers

The MP & Silva agency has acquired the exclusive rights to a package of FIFA 2010 World Cup Asian region qualifying matches, including games involving Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup winners, Iraq, China, Australia, and Qatar.

The move marks the first time that the MP & Silva agency is involved in the distribution of Asian World Cup Qualifier matches broadcasting rights.

The rights held by the Singapore-based agency cover 18 key matches of the third round of the FIFA 2010 World Cup Asian region qualifying matches; including the matches involving the recently crowned Asian champions, Iraq, as well as Asian heavyweights Australia, China, and Qatar and the home games of Lebanon, Korea Republic, and Syria.

“The acquisition of the Asian World Cup qualifying matches is a strategic move to accelerate the company growth in the region and deepen our penetration in the Asian markets.” said Andrea Radrizzani, Chief Executive Officer, MP & Silva. “The landmark deals marks another important milestone for MP & Silva, and we will continue to support and invest in Asian football and other Asian sports federations.”

The third round of the Asian World Cup qualifiers will commence on February 6 and will finish on June 22.
