The agreement for the 2009 Slask-Beskidy (Poland) and Tampere (Finland) Games was signed by EOC president Patrick Hickey, secretary general Raffaele Pagnozzi and Arnaud Simon, Eurosport 2 programme director and head of broadcasting.
The Organising Committees of EYOF 2007, EYOF 2009 and EYOF 2011 also provided progress reports on the youth festival, which aims to encourage greater youth participation in sport and simultaneously tackle the growing problem of childhood obesity.
Spain’s King Juan Carlos officially opened the Assembly, which was attended by key players from all 49 National Olympic Committees, delegates of various Organising Committees, and representatives from all the 2016 Applicant Cities, President Rogge and other IOC members.
