Audiovisual Sport, pay-broadcaster Sogecable's company for the exploitation of football rights, is suing Mediapro for having sold some rights for the Spanish league onto international broadcasters, according to media reports.
Audiovisual Sport has written to the international channels which take Mediapro's signals saying that a Spanish court has initiated investigation proceedings over the "alleged illicit behaviour" of Mediapro.
Audiovisual Sport says that based on the statement by a Spanish Civil Court, it is "beyond any doubt", that "the sole owner of the referred football rights is Audiovisual Sport and that Mediapro can't engage in any activity in relation to, make any use, nor disturb Audiovisual Sport's peaceful exploitation of those rights unless Mediapro fulfills its contractual obligations".
