IPL TV rights to cost a minimum of $59 million

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) fixed a minimum price for the TV rights for its new Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament of $59 million.

The BCCI said the minimum fee is for the first year and the minimum fee for subsequent years could change.

TV broadcasters have been invited to bid for a five-year period. The IPL tournament will comprise 56 Twenty20 matches.
