Companies from the Italian sport goods sector are to hold discussions with their UAE counterparts with a view to further possible collaboration in the sports sector.

Under the initiative 12 leading Italian companies will attend a roundtable with UAE sports institutions and firms under the patronage of the UAE General Authority of Youth & Sports. The Italian Trade Commission in Dubai will also play a pivotal role in the collaboration.

The roundtable will take place at The Palace Hotel on December, 2007. It will be followed by a series of bilateral meetings attended by 12 leading companies from Italy and the top UAE-based companies dealing in sports manufacturing, sportswear, fitness equipment and related fields.

Dr. Ferdinando Fiore, the Italian Trade Commissioner-Dubai, said: 'It is a matter of great privilege to bring the leading companies from the Italian sport sector, the country's best kept secrets, to Dubai for the roundtable. The meeting will help boost possible collaboration between Italy and UAE-based companies and reflects UAE's enhanced profile as a major sports hub and a prospective market for Italian sports manufacturers.'

Apart from exploring new opportunities for the Italian sport sector, the roundtable will also offer an unprecedented chance for the visiting delegation to invest in the UAE market, given by the country's growing importance as the preferred sports hub of the region.

The Italian companies, which will be present at the roundtable, include Colle S.p.A, Gipsy S.p.A, Bailo S.p.A, Meeting Group S.p.A, JMC S.r.L, Idea S.p.A, Roces S.r.L, Runner S.n.C, E.R. Rovera S.p.A, Fit Interiors S.r.L, and Waterfly S.r.L. and Panatta Sport SRL.
