The Welsh Rugby Union will host the International Rugby Board's (IRB) first ever Under-20 World Championship in 2008.
The tournament, from 6-22 June, will replace both the IRB Under-21 and Under-19 World Championships.
"The IRB is delighted that Wales will host the first Junior World Championships next year," said IRB chairman Dr Syd Millar.
Sixteen nations will compete in the tournament, with games in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and Wrexham.
