Plans for the £1 billion golf resort in Aberdeenshire - the Trump International Links scheme - includes two championship golf courses, 950 holiday homes and 36 golf villas.
"I'll be spending billions of dollars in a very great country and I look forward to spending the money and I hope that I get the approval to do so," Trump told BBC Scotland. “We'll be creating jobs, we'll be creating tourism and I think everybody knows how important that is for the area.”
Campaigners against the development say the site is an environmentally sensitive area and plan to seek a public inquiry.
