Under the deal, the bank will become title sponsor of the Nedbank Cup, replacing rival bank Absa which gave up its rights to the tournament in September. Nedbank outbid five other companies for the rights.
PSL chairman Irvin Khoza ssid: “In these historic days, we are forming partnerships that will help us to become one of the top leagues in the world. Following the signing of the broadcast rights deal, and the securing of new title sponsors for the PSL, today we are trilled to announce new sponsors for the premier knockout competition.”
Nedbank group strategy and corporate affairs director Nombulelo Moholi said: “The announcement of the Nedbank Cup sponsorship marks the culmination of a long search by Nedbank for an appropriate, and significant, opportunity to support the soccer fraternity and extend the brand building and marketing programmes that have been so successful for us in road running, golf and sport for people with disabilities.”
