Accelerate was founded almost three years ago by former SA Rugby managing director Rian Oberholzer and co-directors Songezo Nayo and Gary Grant, both formerly senior SA Rugby managers.
"This latest acquisition forms part of our global expansion drive," said Essentially Group CEO, Bart Campbell. "It also enhances our profile in the South African market that has to date been represented by Global Sports Management (GSM). One of our major aims here is to attract the attention of the South African investor community and highlight possible investment opportunities".
Amongst the other recent Essentially Group acquisitions are sports marketing business Frontiers and athlete management business Athletes 1, both of which hold strong positions in cricket, complimenting its already established presence in Rugby Union and Formula One.
