Fifth Brazilian Championship brings in business for São Paulo

São Paulo Futebol Clube, newly crowned Brazilian Champions, says it foresees billing $1 million in the next month with product sales and the consolidation of partnerships with major internationals such as Coca-Cola, LG, Reebok and Warner Bros.

This fifth win has already led to the renewal of its main sponsorship deal with Reebok for $ 7 million – one of the largest deals in the country. In addition to the Reebok deal, the club also signed a $7 million contract with LG.

This new business will give the club the added spending power to invest in its stadium, Morumbi, which could stage World Cup games in 2014.

According to the Brazilian website Máquina do Esporte, last season São Paulo pulled in $60 million and registered a profit of $ 1.2 million.

The club’s TV rights are distributed internationally by Globo TV Sports.
