Owners dominate Football’s Rich List

Football’s latest Rich List reveals that only 14 players are among the top 100 wealthiest individuals in the sport, with owners and investors dominating the list.

The Rich List, drawn up by FourFourTwo magazine, shows that the top ten wealthiest men in football are worth a collective £27 billion and are unsurprisingly headed by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who is worth a staggering £10.8 billion.

The two businessmen that have stalked Arsenal, Alisher Usmanov and Stanley Kroenke are in third and eighth place respectively while Malcom Glazer, owner of Manchester United, comes in at seventh. Formula One supreme and QPR owner Bernie Ecclestone takes fourth place on the list.

David Beckham is the highest-ranked player, but he only scrapes into the top half at No 45.
