The Dubai Sports City plans to host a tournament for the 'A' teams of all Test-playing nations twice a year.

The first tournaments could be held in 2009 or 2010, subject to ratification by the cricket boards, and have been earmarked for April and September/early October.

"Many Test-playing nations have expressed their willingness to play in tournaments for the 'A' teams in Dubai. We will try and stage two tournaments every year," Rodney Marsh, director of coaching, ICC Global Academy, told the Gulf News.

"The Dubai Cricket Stadium is expected to be ready early next year. We will stage a 50-over tournament as well as a Twenty20 event for the 'A' teams. We will also try and include the UAE team in it."

Marsh added he is hopeful that the ICC Cricket Academy will be ready by October 2008.
