Germany favourites to host Women’s World Cup 2011

Germany and Canada will compete to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011 following the withdrawal of Peru from the race.

The two candidates will present their bids to the members of the FIFA Executive Committee at FIFA headquarters on October 29.

The following day, the FIFA Executive Committee will decide which country will host the tournament.

Germany are favourites to win the vote with North America already having hosted two out of six editions of the Women's World Cup.

This September, Germany became the first team to retain the Women's World Cup title when the event was hosted by China.
