LA84 Foundation was created to manage the surplus from the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
"We know he (Wasserman) will be a great asset to our organisation,” said Thomas Larkin, Jr., chairman of the board of directors. “He runs one of the foremost sports and entertainment groups in the world and has been a leader in bringing sports marketing to the increasingly influential digital world."
In the past two decades, the Foundation has invested $169 million in youth sports programmes that have served more than two million young people in Southern California.
