Phone companies battle for London 2012 deal

Mobile phone operator Orange and UK telecoms company BT are reported to be going head-to-head in a battle to secure the contract to manage communications for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

According to UK media reports, an agreement is expected to be signed within the next few weeks.

Orange is bidding alone, while BT is thought to be pitching for the contract with a mobile phone partner, reported to be Vodafone. Orange, if successful, is expected to cover the contract by itself.
