The new deal renews France Télévisions’ existing Six Nations contract, which runs until the end of the 2009 tournament, and includes internet and mobile rights.
France Télévisions will have the right to sub-license the new media rights onto third parties and the broadcaster said it would test the market and see if there was any interest.
The value of the new deal was not disclosed, but the broadcaster is reported to pay between €13 million and €18 million a year for the rights under its present contract.
