Talking to BBC radio, Edelman said that he and chairman Peter Hill-Wood had met up with Farhad Moshiri, the joint owner with Usmanov of the Red and White Holdings investment vehicle.
"He said to us he believes we are a very good long-term investment," Edelman said. "He did not want to take the club over and … he thought he was going to make a lot of money out of it.”
Edelman continued: "As far as the board is concerned, we don't believe we are in any danger of being taken over, it's business as usual and we believe we'll be running this club for many years to come.”
Earlier this year, the Arsenal board agreed a ‘lock in’ so that no shares would be sold by the directors until April next year.
