Samsung and EOC team up to combat youth obesity

The European Olympic Committees and Samsung launched “Get up & Go” - an anti-obesity campaign for European youth - at the CONI Olympic Park.

The programme was launched by Patrick Hickey, the President of the European Olympic Committees, Raffaele Pagnozzi, EOC Secretary General, Mr. In Isoo Kim, Samsung Europe’s CEO, Mr. Hay K.Yang, head of Samsung Sports Marketing and Lambis Nikolaou, Vice President of the IOC.

The programme will initially be rolled out in five countries Croatia, Denmark, Italy, the UK and Ireland. The aim of “Get up & Go” is to get school kids to discover sport and the enjoyment that physical activity can bring. Samsung and the EOC’s vision is then to bring the programme to as many European countries as possible.

Goran Ivanisevic, the Croatian former Wimbledon tennis champion and bronze medallist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, is the ambassador for the programme.
