Media firm Zee Telefilms’ controversial breakaway Indian Cricket League is set for major competition after the sport’s governing body in India confirmed it too was planning to launch a Twenty20 tournament.
The BCCI is expected to unveil the plans today in a bid to combat the star-studded rival league which is scheduled to start next month.
The Indian Cricket League has signed up a number of international stars – but sparked the fury of the BCCI and other nations who threatened players signing up with a ban on them playing for their country.
