The Chicago-based building-products company will be the presenting sponsor for the event to be held at the University of Illinois-Chicago Pavilion, the proposed boxing venue for the 2016 Olympics should Chicago win its bid to host the Games.
The event "will be the largest world boxing championships in history and allow us to demonstrate our city's hospitality and cultural diversity," James Metcalf, president and chief operating officer of USG, said.
The right to host the championships was transferred to Chicago from Moscow.
