The announcement will follow the meeting of the Presidential Council, headed by Putin, which will also involve key ministers and investors. Sochi has six months to form an organising committee under IOC rules. It is understood that the OCOG will be called Sochi 2014.
Dmitry Chernyshenko, Chief Executive Officer of the Sochi 2014 Bid Committee and of the transition committee is one of the candidates for the CEO position.
IOC President Jacques Rogge is scheduled to visit Russia, at the invitation of Mr Putin, later in September.
