According to press agency reports, WSG will hold title and ground sponsorship rights for Test and one-day cricket played in India up to March 2010.
“There will be 55 matches covered by the bid,” Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Lalit Modi was reported as saying. “The winning bid is three times over the last contracted bid.”
WSG outbid two competing Indian firms - Percept and Nimbus - to secure the rights Mr Modi said.
