Auckland venue to get nod for 2011 final

New Zealand rugby chiefs have confirmed the final and semi-finals of the 2011 Rugby World Cup are set to be staged at Auckland’s Eden Park.

The revamped stadium is set to beat off challenges from venues in Wellington and Christchurch to stage the games.

Eden Park can hold almost 20,000 more spectators than the rival cities – around 62,000.

Christchurch and Wellington are looking likely to be handed quarter-finals.
