According to reports in the Indian media, Bernie Ecclestone has given the Indian Olympic Association until the end of September to submit a business plan and feasibility study.
The September 30 deadline could ultimately result in India getting its own race by 2010.
IOA chief Suresh Kalmadi was quoted in India’s Economic Times as saying: “We are working on the project and would come out with a complete detailed plan in a couple of weeks. The letter given by Mr Ecclestone is extendible beyond the September 30 deadline.”
