Although Bonds has passed Henry Aaron's career home run mark, memorabilia experts think the ball will attract bids of around $500,000. That’s $150,000 below the price Aaron's 755th went for in the mid-'90s.
The valuation is also less than one sixth of the price that Mark McGwire’s season record 70th home run ball fetched in 1998.
The mark down in the price of the record ball is said to reflect allegations of steroid use that have dogged Bonds in his later career.
Experts also say that the ball that ends the career tally of home runs from the bat of the San Francisco Giants slugger will be the most valuable.
